A battle of epic portions

In recent years a great battle has begun to take place. The just versus the unjust, the noble versus the foul imposter, the good versus (if I may use such strong language) the bad. As always those with pure intentions are outnumbered and underpaid, but there is hope! With this post I ask all those who have some sense of moral obligation to rally around our one point of...well... rallying! By now I'm sure that you understand the epic battle I speak of is, of course, rice (the defender of truth, justice, and the American way) versus its disgusting rival the potato. So if you have a preference either way, or just like the sound of your own keyboard, then let the world know which side you're on!

Making up quotes

Recent studies show that plagiarism (giving yourself credit for something you did not say) is at an all time high, with the internet providing an abundance of quotes to anyone who would like to steal them. To rectify this situation I have decided to give back to those whose words have been stolen by giving them credit for things they did not say.

The rules of making up quotes are simple, all you need to do is write something (or for those to lazy to write, Ctrl + C can come in handy), put quotation marks around it, put one of those squiggly lines (~) under whatever you have said, and last but not least, write someone’s name next to the before mentioned squiggly line.

Nerdius Maximus

Today as I walked through the school cafeteria I noticed a group of students who had brought a tv and "guitar hero" (a video game in which you try to play songs on a toy guitar) into the area and were playing it with undivided attention. Immediately the word "nerds" popped into my head. As I kept walking (a little faster) I wondered if these students were even aware that they where thought of as such and, perhaps, even considered themselves to be "cool?"
This made me wonder, what exactly qualifies someone as a “nerd?” and are there any tests to make sure you’re not one yourself?

Whoever can come up with the best answer will win some kind of prize to be decided at some other time.

Is The Man getting you down? Does it seem like your whole world is falling apart? Are you really starting to feel that double quarter pounder with cheese? If so, these inspiring quotes might help brighten your day.

"In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."- Douglas Adams

"A committee is a group of people who individually can do nothing but together can decide that nothing can be done."- Fred Allen

“Hey boss,” Hugo called from the next tent. “Colette won’t share the dental floss.” “There’s no reason to use dental floss,” Count Olaf said, “unless you’re trying to strangle someone with a very weak neck” - Lemony Snicket
